How Food Affects Your Entire Life

Published by chelle at 10:14 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

A lot of people don’t realize it, but food affects your entire life. It affects your work, your house, your emotional health, your relationships, even quite possibly how long you get to enjoy your life.

Food is pretty important. We need it to survive. Thousands of people around the world die from malnutrition and hunger. It’s very sad, especially when you look around you in so many cultures where food is thrown away or goes to waste. It simply shouldn’t be that way.

Others who have food don’t eat the right foods. Eating the wrong foods can cause a lot of health problems. Foods high in fat and cholesterol, sugar, and even too much protein can all be very bad for you. We also worry about things like food recalls - it is terrible when you hear about food poisoning or salmonella or other outbreaks in our food. Food not only has the power to sustain your life, but it can also slowly end your life too.

Food affects our general health. For people who have sugar sensitivity, eating too much sugar can cause mood swings, lack of energy, and fatigue. When you are moody and tired from eating the wrong foods guess what happens? You start performing badly at work. You can’t be too productive at work when come mid afternoon all you can think about is how nice it would be to take a little nap on your desk! What also happens is you begin getting cranky. When you get cranky you might take it out on your kids or your spouse or your coworkers or maybe just some poor random person who happened to cross your path unintentionally. This is not good for your relationships to say the least!

Eating right is not just about losing weight or getting in shape. It’s about improving your mood and your emotional well being too. Imagine how much better your life can be if you eat well - you can be more productive in working. More productive in working means maybe a bonus or a promotion or you can get a new high paying job. More money = more things you can enjoy, like a new home or a new car. (Not that money buys happiness, of course it does not - but wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy some of those things?!) You will be happier, and when you are happier the people around you become happier too. Positive thinking can go a long way in influencing and making others start being positive around you.

It wouldn’t seem like love and health or any of things would really go together. But they do. And so if you are struggling with issues other than just losing weight, you may be very surprised to find out that making little changes to your diet and learning to eat better can have a HUGE impact on every aspect of your life!

What are you eating? What would you like to see different in your life? It’s never too late :)
